"Old Timer" Remake

So I was just looking through some old stuff trying to improve some things. I think taking a lot of the yellows and oranges out of this image make it seem more real...

T Rex Composite

Finally got round to compositing the T Rex I did a while back. I think it came out pretty damn fine.

Demon Bust Revamp

So I have to put together a portfolio for a uni course next year and I decided instead of making a bunch of stuff from scratch I would go through my old pieces and rework them. With the demon bust, I pretty much had to cut out the mouth again and add additional subtools.  (I made the original before learning you could have more than one.)

Blood Knight Hecarim - The Shadow of War Completed

So I finally finished the Hecarim model I have been working on and here it is posed and touched up a tad. I was originally going to have him in a scene with spectral horse riders alongside and lightening and such but I have been under the weather and I just wanted to get something out.

Hecarim Progress

Work has been slow on the Hecarim model as with so many parts it was running my computer into the ground. I finally got a new PC which can handle the work and so the model is almost complete...

Brute Worker

I've been going through some of my old stuff and decided to try and rework them into more respectable pieces. This is my first attempt.

The quality is less than desired due to the original size of the model

Old Timer

I finally decided to start making my models look all pretty and such starting with my favourite alien bust.

Blood Knight Hecarim: The Shadow of War. Work in Progress

So I dabble a bit in League of Legends and one of the best looking characters I believe there is, is Hecarim. Thought I might try and do a high detailed model of his Blood Knight skin. Here it is so far...

T Rex

Raw raw, it's a T Rex. Not much to say about it apart from I did it and as my painting and rendering skills weren't up to scratch, it went no further.

Futuristic Armour: Unfinished

My first look at hard surface modelling in ZBrush. Although I just ran out of time and steam in this project I'm still happy with what was done.

Alien Bust

First super duper detailed piece of work I did. Still one of my favourites especially after rendering out properly as will be seen later...

Live Action Pokemon Poster

After what felt like forever, it was finished. I initially made two posters but the second turned out so awfully I daren't let it see the light of day.

Friday 29 June 2012

Getting excited on how easy ZBrush was to use, I decided to incorporate it into another piece of class work. The task was to create a realistic Pokemon Movie poster and so I tried my best to make the Pokemon as realistic as possible.

                                                                            Staryu

There were a few others but they aren't worth showing.
So I finally discovered ZBrush and I have to say it is the best 3D modelling program I've used so far. For modelling organic pieces and even mechanical, once you get past the overwhelmingly complex appearance of the UI it's great.
Here's a few busts I made to test the program.

Futurustic Samurai Design

For a class research project we had to research and make something from it (I still don't really understand it) Anyway, after the last suit of armour I thought I'd try again.

First Wacom

Finally got my first Drawing Tablet so now I can draw straight onto the computer. Just some cartoony stuff I started off with

Elf Armour, Modelling Stages

The modelling took longer than expected as although I had the basic drawing and design down I kept changing what I wanted it to look like. At this point I hadn't begun to work on organic objects so although I wanted to create an actual character I didn't have the skills to fill the suit.

Malachi: Elf Armour

After the transformer I wanted  to work on something a little less complex and so a suit of armour seemed the right choice. At first I was just putting some pieces together to see how it would look.

Garbage Truck Transformer Unfinished

After completing a generic transformer I thought it would be fun to create one that actually transformed from something. I chose a garbage truck for a big, tanky transformer. Unfortunately I never got round to completing the transformer and so it will ever remain a plain old vehicle.

As pointed out by many people, this is not how a garbage truck would look like as they do not have both a rear compactor and a skip compactor above. But really, who cares?

Completed Transformer Design

As you can see, he doesn't actually transform into anything as this was a design for the generic decepticon before they gain some sort of identity. As stated in the previous post, this was my first proper piece of work so this was essentially the first time I had worked with posing and rendering.

Transformer Design Work In Progress

This WIP (work in progress) image of the arms gained a ridiculous amount of popularity on DeviantArt even though it was the least thought out.

This was the first properly thought out and designed project I embarked on which turned out pretty well in the end. I used a technique called "Kit Bashing" in which you simply model 10 or so mechanical looking objects and then stick them together in different ways to make "machine parts".

As usual, I always leave the head until last...

New here...

Hey guys,

So I've been 3D modelling for a few years now and I thought I'd try my hand at expanding past simply uploading them to DeviantArt. At first I'll upload a hole bunch of models I've worked on just to get them out of the way then the posts may become less regular but hopefully more professional in content. So, enjoy!
